Back To School

Hello everyone! Madison here, with a few of my Back-To-School tips. I, unlike pretty much everyone I know, LOVE SCHOOL. Not the homework part, but most everything else. So here are a few things that I do that help my school routine.

1. The first thing I do in the morning is brush my teeth or take a shower. It helps to refresh me and wake me up, so I don't get to school half-asleep. The best thing to do to save time with this one is to brush your teeth while the water is heating up. Sometimes, I don't brush my teeth before I shower though, and it definitely decreases my enthusiasm. And yes, I realize that if you brush your teeth right before you leave for school, it makes your breath smell better, but you can just use a mint or gum for that. And, brushing first thing in the morning ensures that you'll do it.

2. I'm almost positive you've heard this one before, but don't wash your hair every day! It dries it out, and takes extra time in the morning, if you shower in the morning, like I do. I have naturally really thick, curly, oily, and greasy hair, so I wash it about every two/three days, but sometimes I get it, you feel really gross and just need to wash it. Just try to not do this every single day. If you're an athlete, and do a sport that makes you super sweaty, please disregard this. p.s. You can always use dry shampoo.

3. Lay out your clothes for the next day the night before. Trust me, this works if you actually do it. Personally, if I don't lay out my clothes, then I spend like 10-15 minutes in bed, going through my closet mentally, deciding what to wear. It might seem like a hassle, but there is a high chance you won't regret it.

4. Make it a habit to write down your homework as soon as you get to class, and look at your planner as soon as you get home. Self-explanatory.

5. Make a pile or dropping place where you put your backpack, keys, phone, earbuds, and whatever else you will need throughout your day. The same thing applies to makeup. When you lay out your clothes for the next day, set out the makeup you want to wear, if any. This will also save time in the morning.

6. Put reminders for tests, birthdays, and any other events in your phone, and set it to remind you the night before, and 10 minutes before whenever you usually leave the house. That way, you'll have notice the night before if you want to do some last minute studying or go out and get a card or something, and also so you can have it fresh in your brain that day of.
